UPSOCL - A place for inspiration
Its interface is simple, with no sidebars, no ads, just a search form and an almost invisible menu with five categories.
This is the Spanish-speaking site UPSOCL, dedicated to sharing things that are important to the world. Things that inspiRan, things that intrigue, and things that should be seen.
Its name comes from UP = up in English. We suppose that because the idea was in the Chilean context, the CL had that connotation one day; but now that it has different contributors, SOCL is a shorthand for Social.
In the end, with 58 thousand followers on Twitter, almost 100 thousand subscribers on YouTube and more than two million likes on Facebook, it does not matter to understand why it is called that. In the authors' words:
What if we stopped using the Internet to see a dog chasing its tail or a person falling into a river and we started using it to Spreading ideas that can change the way we see the world? What if we take that huge amount of ideas that are not available in Spanish and Eliminate the language gap? ... This is how Upsocl was born.
