Tintin, back to childhood

It has been grateful to see the film Tintín, The Secret of the Unicorn that until this week was released in this Central American context.

Although it is a personage of the European comic, whose first copies left in years 30 in Le Petit VingtièmeI remember reading it when I was at school, in a town forgotten by civilization where a sweet librarian made the exception and let us take our books home even for the whole vacation. I have no idea how they got there, but I remember reading and rereading them with my brothers until I almost knew them by heart, those stories that remain in our memories and come back every day that the spirit wants to feel like a child again ...

Not all the episodes were there and I never saw them again until a couple of years ago when I stumbled across a store in Amsterdam, it was impossible to resist the temptation. On the way back, we chewed them with my children until we were tired, so when they announced the film they themselves were harassing the date and lamenting why the premiere was not simultaneous in all countries. My brother wanted to tell me on Facebook when he saw the ad on TV, but they told him that it was somewhat outdated and that it had already been released in other countries.

So today, after returning to the city that does have a cinema, with Nachos stuffed with cheese and popcorn we have enjoyed a great afternoon, the last day of the holiday that I had left. When I told my girl that the first issue came out in 1930, she laughed, acknowledging the ghetto fad and the irony of the forehead plume that is now in fashion.

Tintin adventuresThe adaptation has made a lot of changes, I suppose to make the script more extensive and exciting. It was then that I knew that my boys knew the story by heart after they interrupted each moment:

  • In the book Hernández and Fernández buy canes and steal their wallets ...
  • They don't mention the bird brothers ...
  • It was never known that the other buyer of the ship was an investigator ...
  • This is not how they catch the pickpocket ...

Sure, it's not quite like the comic, but the plot is well adapted; as they do not lock Tintin in a house but in the ship where he meets Captain Haddock. Very good the scenario of the Captain looking for the coordinates with a sextant in hand, it is not like that in the comic, rather the coordinates are of the sinking site of the ship.

Well, good afternoon.

The holiday was over,

It's good to be back.

I leave some pictures ... the seafood soup, Amapala beach and the Historic Center.

  1. It seems to me great, because it recreates several scenarios where Tin Tin, and his friends go through many adventures ,,,,,,

  2. Hello Don G! Happy 03! Whenever I see seafood soup I say to myself: 'I think it would be impossible to finish it all' 🙂
