International Virtual Cadastre Symposium

With the co-sponsorship of the Association of Geographers of Peru and UNIGIS, Geowebss presents the symposium "Current status of the cadastre and computer and telematics renewal strategies“, which will take place on Friday, August 10 and Saturday, August 11, 2012. The face-to-face event will be held in Peru, but users from all over the world will be able to participate virtually.

Trees that make woodsIt seems to us a very good initiative, which is quite in tune with the good moment that Peru has been experiencing in recent years in geospatial matters. Many Latin American countries carry out similar processes, but their sustainability is often limited by little equity and cohesion of the fabric that involves both private companies and public institutions and academia.

Sharing international experiences is a very good strategy to boost what you have and learn from what others have achieved and just that is one of the objectives of this event.

The agenda includes two intense days, in which it is worth getting involved from the office or home through the virtual platform:

On Friday, the local presentations are included, within the framework of the modernization promoted by the government of Peru through the Constitutional Law of the Integrated National Property Cadastral Information System. Advances in technology and permanent tracking stations will also be presented.

After lunch, the experience in Honduras will be shown with the gradual implementation of the multifunctional aspect of the cadastre for municipal development.
