II meeting of Free Geomatics, Venezuela
This November 13 and 14 will be held in Caracas the second event, after it seems that the previous one celebrated in July It was pretty good
The theme draws a lot of attention, from the papers that come out of the peninsular convention among which it catches my attention:
"A recipe for the development of open source tools" to be taught by Givanni Quaglianno of SIGIS
Here I leave some of the agenda in perverse order:
Free Geomatics | Francisco Palm (CENDITEL) |
The open geospatial ecosystem | Alejandro bearing (SIGIS) |
Migration process to the free GIS | Silvia Porras (PDVSA) |
Free data for a free society | Peter White (MAT) |
GIS online | Luís Laporta and Lourdes Hernández (SIGOT - MINAMBIENTE) |
Policies and standards for cartographic information and geospatial services | Yobany Quintero (CORPOVARGAS) |
Components of a Spatial Data Infrastructure | Valenty González (CREATIVA CA) |
National Spatial Data Infrastructure and Communal GIS | Zaida Pinto (CNTI) |
Community censuses | Jose Campos (HYDROFALCON) |
Building a GIS from a Live - USB | Carlos Ruiz (HOWARTH) |
There will also be a forum on the growth of free geomatics in Venezuela and live demonstrations of PostGIS and PostgreSQL between creating a GeoDatabase and build a linestring perpendicular nearby geometries.
I get the impression that this initiative will continue, they have improved the identity with a more creative logo and even now they have already created a community in Openplans, which I have found out through Mauricio Márquez, where several users have registered. It would be good if you collect the presentations of the events and upload them to the site ... and keep posting.
So if they are close do not miss the event, I am thinking one of these days appear there the other year as long as the commander does not try to "pitiyankee" hehe.
I forgot, because we are Hispanic countries and for some strange reason when everything seems to be ready then there is an inconvenience, it is worth noting if there are no "news" in your discussion list.
hehe, the Pitiyankee thing is a joke of our folkloric presidents.
a greeting
Thanks for the report friend, sincerely very good your work, I always read to you but I never dare to write.
As for coming and that of pitiyankee you can be sure that it is more bla bla bla than anything else, when you are here you will realize that it is more bulla than the cabulla, which cologialmente means that people walk without paying the most attention in those situations.
Soon we will be confirming the venue, greetings from Venezuela ...
Mauricio Márquez
