Knowledge management, the systemic approach

A few days ago I told you that this year my hard bone is systematize the experiences of a project that has taken me two years in the implementation of municipal cadastre.

Last year we took the first step through a systematization diploma with the aim of creating local capacities, experimenting and falling into the reality of how complex knowledge management can be for useful purposes. As a result, after four months, 6 technicians entered a training process, 4 graduated, 1 product was almost ready for printing, one was at an acceptable level and the third was an exercise in how it should not be systematized.

Just this year what remains is the dilemma of how it is possible to create a system of knowledge in municipal cadastre, which can be digestible despite being a compendium, manageable although it is deep, practical although its conformation may sound complex ... nothing to do with impress with a single map.

Today I had an educative interview with my systematization consultant, I am happy to work with someone like that, from whom each sentence produces the feeling of being so essential as to write an entire book but with the level of practicality that solves my great immediate doubt.

systematization of experiencesSo the proposal I previously mentioned as a compendium is now taking the form of a "system", so we have defined that the publishable volume would be the four propositional documents, and the level of practical guide would remain at CD level, which can be upgradable under the principle as are the gpl licenses and above all that entails the richness of videos captured from screen or the process itself.

It is known that in all Latin America there is currently a tendency, if not fashion, to systematize experiences; the two approaches marked are:

  • One that stays at a descriptive level, where many experiences are collected within compendia. Of course, not for the purpose of replication but rather as on an "induction" level.
  • The other is a concept, to which we are betting, that the experiences are intended to be replicated, so that their content acquires the necessary volume for purposes of "deduction" but without forgetting its practicality and management.

I do not want to bore you any more in this confusion of words, so I leave you an image that I found in arkitekturaz, which reminds me that all the space smoke in my proposal must end in a whole, useful, practical and digestible ... under the concept "systemic".

Systematizing experiences is not difficult, that is learned. Systematize for real replica ... it could be.
