Geodesy and Cartography Course in Guatemala

gps This will take place from the 22 of September to the 3 of October of 2008 in Antigua, Guatemala, and although there is a lot of time, it is worth applying because there are only 24 places.

Objective:

The essential objective of the course is the training of technicians responsible for Geodesy and Cartography, especially personnel of the Geographical Institutes of Ibero-American countries members of DIGSA and institutions of countries belonging to the PAIGH.

Duration:

Two weeks with a total of 80 teaching hours, theoretical and
practices, from September 22 to October 3 from 2008.

Content:

1. Basic concepts in Geodesy.
2. Systems of Reference in Geodesy. Weather.
3. Conventional Reference Systems.
4 Concepts about orbits. Kepleriana and disturbed.
5 Introduction to GNSS systems.
6 The signal. Its structure and process.
7 GPS observables.
8 Sources of error in GPS and modeling.
9 Mathematical models for positioning.
10 Observation methods
11 Preparation of campaigns and Geodetic Networks.
12 Transformation between Reference Systems.
13 GPS applications. RTK.
14 Field and cabinet practices.
