CHAPTER 8: TEXT

Invariably, all the architectural, engineering or mechanical drawings must be added text. If it is an urban plan, for example, it may be necessary to add the names of the streets. The drawings of mechanical pieces usually have notes for the workshop and there will be others that, at least, contain the name of the drawing.

In Autocad we have two types of different text objects: text on a line and text on multiple lines. The first one can be of any extension, but it will always be text in a line. The second, however, can be more than one paragraph and the limits by which the text will be distributed can be set. In turn, the attributes of the text, such as the type of letter, its size and other characteristics, are controlled through the "Text Styles". Let's see all these characteristics.
