The systematization of good practices

A year ago we had a tired graduate of systematization that lasted more than 120 hours, has developed a lighter version oriented more to the good practices.

This is one of the simplest forms of systematization, which may well include experiences as processes but in which relevant practices are chosen for those who have carried them out and who are favored by their results. As a product, easy-to-build and manage documents are obtained, which reflect the most important part of the action; in this case, good practices in municipal management and mancomunidades.

That is good practice.

systematization of good practices We have based ourselves on a methodological guide for the systematization of good practices, which was only being produced by the Municipal Decentralization and Strengthening Program "Municipalities Democráticos" of Guatemala, of which I spoke to them some days ago.

It is understood by a good municipal practice, a management experience that has been relevant for the building institution, the local territory and its inhabitants for its positive effects in the provision of services, promotion of development or improvement of the welfare of the people. Additionally, good practice must have verifiable results and continuity of positive effects over time.

What characteristics should a good practice have?

Among the characteristics that have been considered are:

  • Clear leadership on the part of the authorities or decision makers
  • Motivated work teams
  • Opening to other groups
  • Environment conducive to change

From this, a matrix of close to 13 has been drawn up to assess aspects for the moment of prioritizing the different proposals to systematize. Some methodological criteria were considered for weighting relevance, such as entrepreneurship capacity, mobilization or dependence on additional resources, community participation and local coordination capacity.

What results have we obtained

systematization of good practices The course and the audience are technicians and officials of different municipalities and associations, in total they have obtained at least 22 good practices that will be systematized in Local Economic Development, Citizen Participation, Joint Management, etc. In my case, for the area of cadastre and territorial ordering we have taken 4 people with whom we have chosen to systematize at least 7 good practices, some conventional and others innovative for our environment:

  3. Use of total station in the cadastre
  4. Digital integration of cadastre data
  5. Digital integration of tax control

  7. Integration of interregional oversight

The product format

  1. Headline
  2. Your Order
  3. Development of experience
  4. Strengths
  5. Weaknesses
  6. Relevant results
  7. Responsible
  8. Credits

There is more than a month to get the products, and as an incentive there is the possibility of technological prizes of high esteem.
