Maps of Honduras on GPS
I met them at the Technology Fair of Honduras, in their third edition at the time they showed a nice girl their products.
I mean Navhn, which innovates on an issue that, just as it happens with technologies… they arrive here 4 years later than in the United States. Its services are based on at least two lines:
1. Navigation Systems
They distribute different browsers, including Garmin, applications for navigation on PDA or laptop. It is up to now the first company in Honduras that distributes a GPS map, in which they claim to have the majority of major cities with their main points of interest.
For now they are installing the map for $ 100 although its normal cost is $ 200 and for an institution to want to be on the map they are running a promotion of $ 20 one-time payment; then they hope to add popup window options so that more data can be entered, hyperlink to a website and images.
Although its use is not so frequent in these countries, the trend is going there and it is a very good solution for tourists traveling to Honduras. So far it already has a good number of tourist destinations and their associated services such as hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues.
2. Map of Honduras
Apart from the map for mobile devices, they also have a map on the web, built on Geoserver where they are currently promoting the 10 natural wonders of Honduras. It is possible that over time they will take it to a mobile version which would allow it to be deployed from the mobile phone.
They are also building a community of users to share maps and geographic information ... and it is not bad to be aware of this site because they often have interesting promotions.
