Soil Management Course in Urban Projects
It will take place in Asunción, Paraguay from 13 to 18 July 2008 and is promoted by the Lincoln Institute of Territorial Policies, in continuity to the courses proposed for this year; recently it was done one in Guatemala and in the next few days we will formally announce the one the University is organizing in Honduras CEDAC.
It seems to us a good alternative for our Hispanic countries, where the design of projects in large cities is still complex due to the non-existence or little application of land use regulations oriented not only to use but also to domain and occupation. The course seeks to show instruments implemented by other countries in the region and presumes the analysis of the impacts achieved in the recovery of capital gains both in modern construction areas and in recovered historic centers.
The course is aimed at policy makers and technicians, real estate developers and professionals involved in urban planning and management of large and intermediate cities and especially with experience in large urban projects. A small percentage of the participants will come from the academic sector.
It is convenient to apply, since the quota is limited, only 45 participants and the deadline to apply expires on May 12. It can generally be applied to scholarships, and the Lincoln Institute covers the costs of accommodation, event registration, and in some cases even travel expenses.
