CHAPTER 11: POLAR TRACKING

 

Let's go back to the "Drawing parameters" dialog box. The “Polar tracking” tab allows you to configure the characteristic of the same name. "Polar tracking", like "Object reference tracking", generates dotted lines, but only when the cursor crosses the specified angle, or increments of it, either from the origin coordinates (X = 0, Y = 0), or the last point indicated.

With “Object Reference” and “Polar Tracking” activated, Autocad shows trace lines at the angles specified in the dialog box. In other words, with this characteristic, when drawing a new object, we can point to a reference to objects ("end point", "quadrant", "center", etc.) and angular vectors will emerge; Then we point to another reference of another object, with which we will see the angular intersections that arise from the tracking of both points.

Thus, we will insist on the fact that these 3 joint tools, "Object Reference", "Tracking ..." and "Polar Tracking", allow us to generate the geometry of new objects very quickly from what is already drawn and without detriment of precision.
